So, I've been a little silent these past few months, and that's because I've been working on a side project, and really had to focus. Cold and Afraid is coming along very well and I've got some exciting new footage and updates I will be posting in the coming months.
But if there are any other indie gamedevs who are reading this, you know that burn out is real. I have a very healthy development process with Cold and Afraid, and I needed to preserve that. Therefore, I took some time out to work on something different, to refresh the batteries so that when I go back to working on the game, I will be reinvigorated with fresh eyes and perspective.
So, I was browsing itch.io and saw the Metroidvania Month game jam. I thought, well that would be neat, creating a small little Metroidvania. So, I began to work on it... And just like me, I got caught up in the details — so much so, that I wound up missing the deadline! I became so engrossed in this game, I realized I wouldn't be able to get it done in time and have it be at the quality standard that I set for all my projects.

Well, It turned out be what I feel was a blessing because I somehow managed to start creating something I believed was special. With the deadline missed, I made the decision to push ahead anyway and at least complete a demo of the game.
So, it's called Twilight Bastion. A PS1-Style 3D platformer Metroidvania inspired by Vagrant Story and Ico.
Check out some gameplay of the alpha demo build that I plan to release in the near future.
Thank you all for joining me on my development journey, and I honestly cannot wait for you to get your hands on my games. Cold and Afraid, and now Twilight Bastion. Both I've put my heart and soul into, and I just hope someday it will all pay off.
As always, huge shoutout to my Patreon supporters. We are steadily growing. Every new person that joins gives me a jolt of inspiration to keep going down this treacherous road of indie development.
